Ronan Cosgrove
Ronan is an experienced litigator with extensive commercial experience in a broad range of matters including casualty claims, property claims and professional negligence claims.
Ronan started his career working as a commercial and civil law barrister in Ireland dealing with high value casualty and professional negligence claims. Ronan subsequently worked as an Attorney in the Turks and Caicos Islands (a British Overseas Territory) as a senior litigator and acting Attorney General on behalf of the Government. In that role, he acted for and advised the Government on a range of matters including personal injury litigation, construction disputes, regulatory issues and employment law matters. Ronan returned to Dublin in 2016 after working for two years in a London law firm in the area of commercial litigation.
On his return to Dublin, Ronan spent almost three years working in a Dublin-based international law firm dealing with casualty and property related claims. Prior to joining Bay Legal Solicitors in 2025, Ronan was the Managing Partner of a Dublin based Insurance litigation firm acting on a range of complex claims in the UK and Ireland including casualty, property and professional indemnity claims.

Mark McGuire
Mark was admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2000 and the Republic of Ireland in 2003. He also holds the Advanced Diploma in Insurance, ACII qualification. Mark has worked in the insurance and legal professions for over 30 years, starting his career at a large Local Authority in England, progressing to the position of Claims Manager, with overall responsibility for operating the Authority’s self-insurance program. Post qualification, in both jurisdictions, Mark has worked for various defence litigation firms, before founding Bay Legal Solicitors in 2018.

Alexa Young
Shirley is a Legal Executive Defence Specialist with over 20 years’ experience within the Irish Insurance and Legal Sector. Shirley worked with a number of Firms before joining Bay Legal Solicitors, where she is today.
